MFG STATE OF THE MARKET 9-15-24

The markets were on fire this past week!! Gold (GLD) broke through resistance and hit another new all-time high. Bonds (TLT) is still in a stage 2 uptrend and almost trading at an extreme-high RSI reading above its 200-day SMA.

The stock market had its best week of the year after it just had its worst. All three major indexes, the S&P 500 (SPY), the Nasdaq (QQQ), and the Dow Jones (DIA) climbed higher and entered stage 2 breakouts.

A stage 2 breakout is underway in Bitcoin (BTC) below its 200-day SMA, along with Bitcoin Cash (BCH). Oil (USO) is in a stage 1 accumulation zone below its 200-day SMA. Be patient and stay in flow.

Last week was an amazing one for the MFG portfolio!!

Lots of stocks were flying, I further increased my monthly dividend income, and closed green almost all week in day trading. I love the stock market! The opportunities are unlimited.

Three standout stocks in the MFG portfolio were among the best and worst performers in the SPY. Warner Bros Discovery Inc. (WBD) jumped over 10%, while Adobe Systems Inc. (ADBE) dropped 8%.

Additionally, last week’s 'Trade of the Week' pick, Etsy Inc. (ETSY), gained over 7%, making it the second-best performer in the SPY! We also saw beautiful moves in BX, WMT, MPW, CUBE, and MCD, just to name a few.

I added to leveraged index positions TQQQ and UPRO and swing trades AMDL and X.

CONL has been building a nice stage 1 accumulation zone and price is now above the 5-day EMA. I’ll be watching Oil (USO) and Bitcoin (BTC) closely this week.

🚨FOMC MEETING THIS WEEK, SEPTEMBER 17-18TH!!🚨

The upcoming Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) meeting on September 17-18, 2024, will focus on potential interest rate cuts as the Fed navigates a slowing economy and moderating inflation.

Analysts anticipate a 25 basis point rate cut, although there's some speculation of a larger 50 basis point cut, which could have significant impacts on stocks, bonds and real estate.

Lower interest rates reduce the cost of borrowing for businesses, which can lead to increased investment, expansion, and potentially higher profits. This generally boosts stock prices, as companies' earnings expectations improve.

For bonds, a rate cut would likely increase their prices, as existing bonds with higher yields become more attractive relative to new, lower-yielding bonds.

In real estate, lower rates typically lead to reduced mortgage costs, increasing homebuyer affordability and boosting housing demand. This heightened demand often drives home values higher.

Typically, a 1 point rate cut, could impact home values to increase by 12-17%.
